I was born in Poland, and from an early age I was into everything possible, including dancing, sailing, scuba diving, and music. I have even learned to climb mountains, which eventually led to expeditions to Mount Everest, Aconcagua and Elbrus. I’ve also sailed across the Atlantic Ocean. I fell in love with everything ‘travel’: new languages, landscapes, cultures, food and above all, the people. Nevertheless, whatever the origin, I am completely and utterly 100% head over heels in awe of all adventurous things.
All of us humans hold within us the odd combination of timidity (embracing the familiar) and curiosity (the siren call of the unknown). Everything around us sooner or later becomes familiar and no longer unpredictable. We love the familiar, but it places a stranglehold on us. I want to drill through the surface of the world, through ideas that hardened over the years in the guidebooks, through the visible landscapes, discovering what is only known and visible to native people and bring that to you, even if that means taking a risk and relinquishing some of the safety and security that the familiar offers. By not taking that risk we sacrifice the possibility of experiencing a new kind of adventure.
Welcome aboard!
Joanna
